Summer Hockey

More hockey for Jen, but with a summer league this time. They play out at the Olympic Oval, which is a pretty cool venue, but which also has netting all the way around it so photographers get to shoot through puck-marked plexiglass. Oh well, hockey is always fun to watch.

After Work Quickie

Alex, Ceci, Price, JP and myself ran up into the canyon for a post-work, pre-poker session in frigid temps and gusting wind. But at least we got to climb something. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera for the first time this year so I have absolutely no photos. And, Price won all of our money that night by hitting running 5s on the turn and river to make a set and stay alive after going all in against my AQ. Lucky bastard.

Pitch and a Half

Since all my climbing time has been spent training lately, and I've been sick as crap on top of that, I haven't been getting too much time on the rock. But today, Jen and I got in a couple quick pitches in BCC after sleeping in and before the torrential rain started.

More Moab

Once again, it was time to head south. Jen and I went down with bikes and climbing gear. We got to use half of that stuff. On Saturday, we joined several friends and rode the down from Kokopell and out Porcupine Rim, which is perhaps the best trail in the state. Good times were had by all, as usual, except for the penny-size blister on Jen's hand. On Sunday we decided to do the North Chimney on Castleton Tower, but things didn't quite work out. After banding out the hike, we found constant 40mph wind at the notch with gusts in the 5os. Not to mention the two groups still waiting at the base to start. Not being equipped for anything else in the area (except the Kor/Ingalls route and I'm not climbing that POS again) and not wanting to make long rappels in super-strong wind, we decided to just hike down the sand blaster and drink beer instead.

Sun, Dirt, Wind

Jen and I loaded up the truck with plans to ride one day and then climb in Zion, but somehow I managed to pinch a nerve in my neck and put myself completely out of commission for Friday. By Saturday I could kinda move, so I decided to ride with the crew and just take it easy. On Sunday I was still jacked up, so I pretty much hung out and took photos while the crew played around at the old Red Bull Rampage Venue. I got in plenty of pedaling this weekend, but all things considered, I would have rather been climbing.
